With Mourinho now getting the same treatment as Ronaldo looks like this could get frisky and looks like this deal is a no go, as they wouldn't want to put each other on the same foot of two tax fraudsters sharing the same boat.

Remember a few years back when the French government looked to impose a massive tax hike on high earners - including footballers.

The clubs went "on strike" as they would have had to pay the hike sknce theor players wefe effectively on net wages.7

I think strictly speaking the clubs were paying the players 'double-gross' ie if they said they were paying them £10m with 40% tax they were actually paying them £15m, in order to cover the tax (and the tax on the extra £5m!)

You maybe right - its like the good old days of Capital Transfer Tax, where, if the donor paid tax, then the tax payment was then itself deemed taxable.... etc etc ad absurdam
