    The derby lives...

Hamilton stay up with a 1-0 win over Dundee United...good for us, I would suggest.

I would agree better no having another club with bigger resources coming up but that said we cannot assume Accies will be cannon fodder next year. Its gonna be very tight again next year.

Yes, from a very selfish point of view good for us. Less travelling and probably less financial competition from Accies than United. Also the continuing prospect of a modern day Lanarkshire derby. Not so good for Scottish football as a whole though. Accies are very much anti football but who can blame them if this is their only route to top flight survival? The result will also put even more financial pressure on an already skint United. Lets hope they can trim their cloth to stay afloat.

I wouldn't normally be happy to see Hamilton winning but I was today.

From a Motherwell FC point of view it's going to be better to have them in the top flight next season rather than a club with a bigger budget and bigger potential to harm us.

Also, for me personally I can't stand Dundee United and never could and as far as I'm concerned they can rot in the lower divisions for years. Their support are in the main, deluded, arrogant and way above their station and media darlings into the bargain, and through the years I've always found them to have some detestable individuals associated with them, from Jim McLean, Dave Bowman to that Thompson that is there just now.

I hope they never get back up again.

Their style is no more anti football than ours... i'm lucky if I watched 4 hrs of football all we were boot and rush most of the time.

Yep - I'm happy for them to stay up too. NY derby rather than a trip to Killie or Partick. And, hopefully, a guarantee of some points in the bag !
