For comparison, didn't Stubbs sign 14 players in one transfer window? That worked out well didn't it!
    Stop talking sense Mellow.

Evans was useless and the double promotion was a complete fluke, not to mention comfortably staying in the Championship!!!

Hmmm, and our management duo insist we're not signing anybody because all the players and their agents are on holiday.
There's managers and then there's proper managers 😕

Different rules nowadays with the transfer windows.

Evans could sign players every month if he needed to. And did.

Harder for smaller clubs now as we have to have a squad that can do the business for at least half a season before any changes.

many thanks JV for your endeavours on our behalf.

89 signings by Evans with an approximate failure rate of 89%. Put this bum in partnership with a profligate and utterly dense chairman like TS and you have a guaranteed recipe for long term failure and a football club that will be shortly heading back to where they were when Evans arrived - except our coffers are empty, nobody wants to sign for us and we're a joke club, a colossal embarrassment.

Told you all this years ago.

I predicted this would happen just after Evans' first delivery of sheite arrived. Other managers followed Evans' template and our club is now moribund and in the worst possible hands.

So do we blame Stewart for sacking Evans cos accordingly to my memory he gained promotion twice and retained our status and we had two great back to back wins still in the Championship then he sacked him?

Never been the same atmosphere since Evo left.... am I wrong with that statement Zil?

Brin, we blame TS for appointing SE in the first place. We also blame him for giving SE carte blanche for signing any old rubbish. The crunch came in the Championship when over the summer SE brought in another instalment of dud players. This compromised TS to the hilt. TS: this guy brought two promotions but at a considerable cost and yet the team and squad were nowhere near improved. We were booked for 4th from bottom every season Evans remained. Something drastic had to be done and for once TS did the right thing in saying ' Steve you're bankrupting me and the club. You lied whrn you said every player you brought in would improve the team. Many failed to do this either because they were substandard or because they were woefully unfit or just plainforward crocks.

The man had to go back to where he belonged; Div4 or non league. He spent a huge amount on people like the guy from Villa reserves and another crock.

Sund and Newc get big and noisy crowds and neither are any good.

Nowt better to do on a Sat'd? We know all about that and it will get worse inside NYS.
BTW Mansfd brought in 3 0r 4 In the window and still finished 12TH. Something to shout about? Not really.

Scott and Evans have proved TS is a Hure and a Schlampe. He'll go with anybody who sweet talks him. It's easily done.

Something drastic had to be done, because two consecutive promotions and then remaining in the Championship was not good enough. So we took drastic action, we sacked Evans and went on a downward spiral, ultimately ending in relegation. Yes, Zilzal, I can clearly see Tony Stewart made the right decision in getting rid of him.
