Huddersfield don't want to be saddled with expensive contracts........and.......Why is that our problem? Rumoured to want to pay a loan fee and willing too pay all his 30k a week wages with a view of a permanent deal if they stay up, cheapskates, £3m loan fee and his wages should do It

£5m is a bit on the cheap side, I would ask for around £8m for Hughes, it would of been considerably more but given his current performances as of late, it has seen his value dropped down and we should of cashed out sooner but unfortunately we didn't, and we lost out on that one.

Looks like Hughes is moving to Watford for £8m, right time for him to make a step up to the big leagues and make a fresh start and see how he copes and £8m is about right considering the season he has had.

If there's any truth in the Watford rumour it seems an odd destination. Must be amongst the favourites for relegation next season. Can't help thinking that a deal with Watford may involve some sort of 'wheeler dealing' over any outstanding Anya and Vydra fees in addition to the £8m.

After the instalments the £8m fee would be increased to £10m. If Hughes was going to take a step up to the Premier League, he would want a reasonable club that would give him plenty of game time to keep on improving for the foreseeable future, then if he was going to move to a huge club like Liverpool or Man Utd, where he would just be going out on loan but the cost of that like Andre Wisdom for instance would make him feel unsettled and hurt his development, so it would be best to find a club he can settle down with and gradually improve and become an even better player to what he is now.

Hughes has struggled to find a consistent form for us and continue being the energetic talisman we know he can be and he has considerably fallen down the pecking order under Rowett since he came in, so it's a fitting bill to move Hughes on so that he can take the next path in his development.

I think I can detect something sensible within that mangled mess of English above, R4J. Will going to a top flight club would just mean playing reserve team football at best. He cant even hold down a starting role for us.

So Watford could be a decent choice as long as they stay up which I'd rate 60-40. If he then gets his mojo back and makes another step up to a better club, he still has time.

So if we sell at 8m, we must make damned dure there is a 25% sell on profit clause.

    Would be happy then

Just cause he can't get a starting role for us, doesn't mean he wouldn't be in a starting 11 in another.

Not sure I give a toss about his development once he's been shipped out (apart from the mentioned sell-on clauses), he's either fighting our corner, in which case doff of the cap and all that, or he's elsewhere and so what. Sorry to be so parochial
