When I was a nipper I used to stand in the paddock (on a milk crate) and before kick off I used to sit on the low wall between the crowd and the pitch, which paddockites round me called the 'MacKay Wall' because he spent three seasons putting opposition players into it. slightly made up/exaggerated I'm sure but an indication of his uncompromising nature. Not sure Terry would have given us that if we'd have gone for him

A lot of fans have said Taylor was the talented one when it came to spotting a player, and that he had areally keen eye.
But Cloughy was the real force behind bringing a player up to speed because of his style of man management.
It sounds like it was one hell of a partnership.
