Yes, Yak, and interesting that the BBC has dispensed with their normal reluctance to refer to such incidents as "terrorist" as have the police and the Home Secretary. Indeed the BBC interviewed a Muslim who stated (rather dramatically, I thought) that Muslims lived in fear in London and he didn't know if he'd be alive tomorrow! Another Muslim spokesman was given free rein by the Beeb to state that this attack was a result of the tolerance of anti-Muslim sentiments at dinner parties, schools and in society in general and that the government must act to stamp out anti-Muslim statements at all levels.

The point I'm making is how can you so quickly determine motivation here? The guy could be insane. The guy could have lost friends or relatives in some recent terrorist attack. Who can say so quickly that his morive was racism?
And why did no BBc reporter or Muslim spokesman make the obvious point that one motive could be misguided revenge for recent terrorist attacks by Muslims? Instead they all said it was obviously the result of general Islamophobia. I would say attacks like this are to be expected when we have repeated terrorist outrages by Muslims. "Stamping out Islamophobia" is just a daft aspiration.

Yak, you make my point for me. How do you and roly know so quickly what the guy's motivation was? And yes, the disparity of approach shown by the BBC is to me "interesting".

RIP to the person who died, just hope no more of the injured die. Unfortunately I think there will be more 'revenge' attacks on Muslims due to the Islamic terrorism. These kind of scumbags need to realise that killing or attacking ANY innocent person is ALWAYS wrong.
