Did Airdrie ever buy their history back from Airdrie as I'm sure Airdrie won this before they became Airdrie?

Serious question, what do the Welsh., Norn Iron, Irish teams bring to this cup, different opposition granted, but how do they compare standard wise and are their home crowds for this competition healthy, when compared to their normal average, and do they travel well?

I think that in England we should scrap the Football League Trophy and let the league 1 & 2 sides play in the Scottish League Cup (re-branded of course) against Scottish Championship sides and the 2 leagues below. Then Scottish top flight sides should then enter the English League Cup minus England's league 1 & 2. That way both countries retain their own FA/SFA cups and the League Cups in each country are made a bit more interesting. Also Scotland could drop the trophy Dundee United won the season just gone.

I really hope the poeter I have on my ignore list is keeping to the thread rather than talking about me, this could be a good thread, about football of all things.

With history not being for sale, Airdrie had to make up a new name and badge before being allowed to have both back after a change of rules later on.

But yes, the old Airdrie won the differently named cup a few times.
