The suggested fee was 18m Euros in the Portuguese press. I am no expert, but I think that equates to about £15m. The figure hasn't gone down, just some journalist failing to pay attention - as usual!

I have heard this rumour about Afobe to. I have to say I have mixed feeling about this as he used to drift in and out of games for us. It is too easy just to remember the good games plus he could not keep a first team place for Bournemouth.
As for Ruben Neves-what a great signing for us. Not known for his goal scoring but has been likened to a Paul Scoles type player-plenty of bite with great passing ability which is just what we need. I hope our owners go for broke with a goalscoring midfielder and a proven striker.

I'd take Afobe back in a flash. He was very good when he had other talent around him. When we let Sako go and Dicko got hurt, he was the only attacking player capable left. Still had 9 goals in a little over half a season despite frustrating us with from time to time. Didn't get a lot of playing time with Bournemouth but maybe that wakes him up to what level he is at. If we signed him, I'd bet he'd get ~15 goals for us in a full season.

You have yourself a bet Michigan. But it's one of those bets I hope you prove me wrong and he get 15 goals if we sign him.. I'll tell you something though, the Championship looks an esp. hard division to get out of this year with so many big teams buying big-our 2 Brummie neighbours being 2 of them.
