GT89| #rufc have it in the net for a second time as Kayode follows in a shot from distance to tap in, but he's flagged offside. 0-1.

Just got home. Fisher, Taylor and Ajayi were all superb. Jono should have scored in second half when he ran clear but took too long to get his shot away and was tackled. He had loads of time too. Good to see the kids get a little run out. I am optimistic still. UTM.

The real test starts on Friday. That will give us a good indication of just how good the players we've signed are.

Thing is 5/5 wins no matter who the opposition was and it can only breed confidence in the side. The problem now is who does Warne pick as his starting 11...over to you Mr Manager.

A few notes from the gainsbro match. First thing I thought Gainsbro were very quick and competitive and didnt give us a second on the ball which is what you would expect of course from a team run by Frecks uncle. It was a hard work out.

Didn't think we played that well in general lacked a bit of sharpness but deserved the win.

Goalie: not much to do but reacted well enough when in danger. Still a bit dodgy catching ball.
Emmanuel: Like him. Obviously still a bit raw but thought he read the game well, positionally sound-take note Fisher-and quick.
Purrington: Sound enough without being spectacular. Not really an attacking full back.
Wood: Thought very solid, looked fit for an oldie and marshalled defence well.
Iekwe: Generally good game. Quick, good positional sense and dominant in air. Nearly got caught a couple of times dallying on ball.
Forde: Alright in patches. Didn't look that fit to me
Newell: in central midfield. Looked a bit lost and not as involved as other pre season games.
Vaulks: Looked fit. Got stuck in. Some good shots from distance. Some of his passes astray but decent engine.
Yates: played left side of midfield and had a good game. Got up and down pitch and not afraid to get stuck in and make himself available.
Moore: Disappointing. Control not good and didnt hold up well for a big un. Think Warney has to work some magic to get best out of him. Potential is there.
Proctor: Thought he did well. Held ball up well and constant menace to their defence. And another goal...

So: best players: Proctor. Emmanuel, Wood, Yates, Vaulks and Iekwe.
