Some more money available to either offer Louis Moult more or bring in a new face, either way It's a good deal for the club as Clay didn't exactly set the world on fire in the time he was here.

Good outcome for player and club. He always seemed to give of his best but the quality not quite there. Not the worst to pull on the jersey. Was consistent but was never going to be a game changer. With Lionel you thought "maybe he can be in the mood today and swing the game." With Craig Clay I always thought "he'll do his best, but is not a game changer." Good luck to him with Orient.

As you say, not the worst to pull on a Well jersey but lacked pace and creativity. Good outcome there.

Not exactly a surprise. Robinson didn't rate him at all - not crying over any spilled milk on this announcement.

A good move for player and club. He wasn't good enough for our level but he may do a job for Orient. Good luck to him. It'll also free up a wage for the manager's rebuilding plans.

Robinson has been impressive in at least attempting to cut the real deadwood from the squad, even when a player is contracted.

Arguably seeing the rubbish is the easier part of the job than replacing it ofc.

    Indeed.

I doubt another Scottish - possibly even British - manager would have been brave enough to cull the way he did. Sadly he just completely underestimated the subsequent standard.

Also curious to see how some of the things he was mocked for re sleep, food etc have become accepted, even if not standard everywhere due to costs.

Aye - and the 'no *** 48 hrs before a game' commandment; my missus is still using that one on me every week for every conceivable game on the telly !!
