Under 18's off to Prague with Danny

For a 12 club tournament starting with Sparta Prague.
Burnley are one of 12 sides competing in the under-19 Generali CEE Cup tournament, which is now in its seventh year and which this summer includes Everton and Leicester City among the invited clubs.
Danny Cadamarteri their new coach will get a good look at them and hopefully they will progress.

    Good news
Burnley opened the tournament against Sparta Prague this morning and withstood some pressure from the home side to claim a 1-0 victory, with first year scholar Michael Fowler netting the only goal of the game around 15 minutes from time.
    Canadian Prostars next tomorrow

A good performance this morning from a very young team who had a number of 'regular starters' on the bench. They were on top for the majority of the game against a team from Canada who were slightly off the pace. This means that our lads now play a semi-final on Monday morning against the winners of Group D, which will probably be SK Slavia Prague, who won their first game yesterday 6-0. Kick off will be at 10 o'clock (our time).
    Good luck to the lads.

Just shows how much I know!! I said it would probably be Slavia Prague, however, it appears that the Academica team was a last minute replacement and they got hammered by Slavia and Altinordu, who then beat Slavia to qualify for the semi.
Good luck to all our Young Clarets --fingers crossed.

In the final after a 4-1 win in penalty shoot out and a 1-1 drawn game.
    Well done boys

Everton or FK Sarajevo in the final.

Saw a bit live on youtube, the game is on there now also, but a great equaliser from the Turks, direct free kick curled into the top corner keeper no chance. They seemed big compared to our youngsters.
