O/T (slightly) - British Sporting Success

Fantastic womens' world cup final today, what a thriller! Well done chicks!

And 'chapeau' to Britain's least popular champion, Chris Froome yet again cleaning up on the Tour De France

Just off to run the Union Flag up the old flag pole

Quite right to question that word usage ramAnag.

"Chicks" is so 1960s: the word he was really grasping for is "bitches"

We are very resilient at Faber Towers, almost totally immune to the seemingly all-pervading fear of 'offending people'. I thought the first response to this would be 'Froome isn't English' but hey ho....

Not by birth but then neither is Mo Farah, Andy Murray, Joanna Konta, Billy Vunipola, Kevin Pieterson, Andrew Strauss, Dylan Hartley, Handel, Cliff Richard, Freddie Mercury, Joe Strummer, Rita Ora, Prince Philip, Magnus Magnusson, Spike Milligan, John Barnes or Eddie Izzard (to name but a few).

Bradley Wiggins has an Australian dad and was born in Belgium btw - and he drives a Skoda.

    Nationalism eh!

Andy: if you are running the Union flag up the pole, why are you subsequently referring to "Froome isnt English"? This leads to confusion as Baalocks now brings in a scot as not counting (in the boring Mr Murray).

I think you should be running up the flag of St George so as to be consistent, although the Welsh may then complain that the cricket team was not just England. But who cares about what the Welsh think. Its all too confusing!
