Really encourages people to use public transport. Used to have a good bus service here but seems they have made a mess of it.
Do you not think that the decline in services may have something to do with the fact that you and many others have "not been on a bus for a while". There's an old saying about services: "Use it or lose it" - you've lost it

I learned to drive because there was no buses

When I was 5 we had a corner shop and buses every 15 mins. By the time I turned 12 the corner shop had shut down and buses were every half hour. By the time I was 16 the busses didn't come to the stop at the top of our road no more , instead you had to walk 10 mins to the bus stop on a different road again they came every hour. By the time I was 21 the busses only ran 4 times a day. By the time I was 24 walk increased to half an hour and the busses came every hour.

Now I'm 32 and the walk is still half a hour to the nearest bus stop and there is only 5 busses a day.
Where I live half the people drive the other half are too old to drive or walk half an hour to the nearest bus, they have no choice but to use taxis. As for me iv only held my licence for 5 years. So don't make excuses for the ****y bus service

Point is it's not suddenly become crap it's being going on for at least 20 years and blaming on it people who drive is stupid because if busses were that good no one would need to drive

If you believe that you will believe anything. There are many reasons why people prefer to drive even if offered an efficient bus service. For example, try taking a mattress to the tip on a bus, try getting the legover on the back seat of a bus, try asking a bus driver to drop you off closer to home than the bus stop, try pulling birds by driving with the bus window open playing crap music at force 98, try getting away after a bank robbery on the bus, try going to a drive-in movie on a bus, try...well you get the picture. To some people cars are a status symbol or a pen1s extension. They would no more travel on the bus than do their weekly shop in Poundland

1 council will pick up a mattress or you can hire someone to take it away
2 I have had leg over as you put it on a bus (well technically she had her legs over lol)
3 if bus service were any good you'd already be dropped off close to home.
4 seriously that's how you attract women by showing how unreliable you are in a car while playing crap music. Dam and here was me looking smart being polite buying drinks while listening to them.
    5. Yep good point we need cars for bank robberys 😂
    6. We don't have any drive in movies in Yorkshire do we?
    7. There are drugs and operations for a dodgy dick now days.
    8. Cars are important to Modan life but there are people who can not drive due to medical issues, old age or can't afford a car. Not everyone is so lucky in life and no ones luck lasts for ever.

    An interesting but flawed concept.

What sort of outcry would there be if HM Government announced that because of its popularity everybody in the UK subsidised attendance at football matches whether or not they had any interest in the game or ever attended matches?

That's how the subsidised bus system worked.

If you're looking for someone to blame, look in the mirror, you, the car driver, is the one at fault, plain and simple.

Just a quick thought shouldn't Poundland be 80pland now due to devaluation after Brexit vote
