    Dose of realism

Well last night served up a bit of reality to a chunk of rovers fans
Are we going to win the league? Um no
We have a very good first team but as last night showed injuries(supposedly) in key area's and we look very suspect we need to maybe consider some more players coming in
    Striker 100 percent
Winger quite possible with Conway being one of the more injury prone
After last night maybe a centre back nyambe is not a centre half and by reports it seems neither is ward
And I am starting to agree that maybe raya needs an experienced gk breathing down his neck
Anyhow we are on the brink of the season starting I am feeling excited but apprehensive at the same time
We won't piss the league and probably won't go up automatically but realistic expectation of play offs.

Agreed. Perhaps yesterday showed the lack of strength in depth. Still more players have left the club compared to recruited numbers & lacking experience in certain key areas. Still excited for the kick off & will be at Southend next week cheering on the team

Cannot disagree with you guys, but isn't that what the pre seasons are all about. I seem to recall pre 95 we lost every one, or at least didn't win one.
The thing is our manager now does not gloss over deficiencies, he faces them head on. He is also refreshingly honest with the support, or at least as much as he can be. He has never denied the fact we are light, he is at this time openly saying he is waiting on four more additions. Maybe not as many as some would hope, but that's the reality of it as it stands.
We have just got to get on with it.
He tried out varied combinations and some worked, some didn't . But that's what this stage is all about. He learns a lot more playing a testy combination against a good level team (on a decent run), more than his poss first choice against arguably weaker earlier opposition.
Arte et labore is our motto, so it's a bit more labore for a while.
