First League Match: Queens vs. Brechin City

What's everyone's thoughts on the first league match?
Could it be a nostalgia trip back to October 2002 when Queens won the Challenge Cup at Broadwood vs. Brechin City and will Lyle score again?

My prediction 3-1 to the South....

Or will it be like 2005 - 6 (Iain Scott, Stuart Lovell, Jobby McCall) when Queens could only draw with them 4 times and the last game at Glebe Park earned us the point that kept us in Division One.

Unfortunately I think it will be a draw ,as we don't have the midfield to create very much and only one person that is likely to score and I think Brechin and everyone else in the league knows that, keep Dobbie quiet and it's game over.

Colin Steven is the ref for Saturday's first league match.

Last in charge of a league match at Kirkcaldy when Dobbie scored the ghost goal.

Think this game will be a good gauge as to where we will be this year. Hopefully we can get off to a flier but I've got my doubts

If Dobbie and Co cannot win at home to Brechin City it will be a long season....

Is it the Dumfries Show tomorrow ? If so we can expect a poor opening day league crowd

No doubt but I'd hope the attendance to be up a bit with it being the league opener. I know some hard-core Brechin fans will miss out due to attending a wedding but other ones seem to be travelling down.

yep i think it is the dumfries show this weekend ,and with the new sfa smoking ban keeping some away i predict if queens get over 1000 on sat it will be a good crowd under the circumstances .
