    Cardiff vs Pompey

Enjoyed the game. As Jackett implied Cardiff gradually wore down Pompey, but I thought they looked big and strong and committed - just what you need for League One.

Bennett showed skill and pace and Naismith's control and zipped pass for Pompey's goal was well executed. Halford missed the long pass over his head which set Naismith up and if the centre-back hadn't ogged, the Pompey forward would likely have knocked it in. It was a wicked cross. When Halford scored the winner, he didn't celebrate and from his later comments, clearly has a soft spot for Pompey.

A season of consolidation for you, me thinks - while Cardiff press for a top six finish. Look out for Zohore - he could be very good!

Cheers Lassie. We'll be ok and if we can bring in a couple or more decent players we could do well. Pompey have a pretty awful record in this competition in all honesty so no surprise we went out. I saw a decent game at WLP where the Hawks were 3.0 up with a minute or so to go plus time added on. Eastbourne cashed in on some sloppy defending to make the score 3.2 which didn't reflect the Hawks dominance for long periods in all honesty. Not sure why they are paying Tubbs well to sit on the Bench but that is Bradbury's business. Young Widdrington on loan from Pompey scored a cracker and nearly had another go in. That's 2 I've seen him hit like that in the last 3 weeks, good luck to him
