    Marvellous Motherwell march on

Motherwell fought their way into the Betfred Cup quarter final after a thrilling 120 minutes against Ross County. We finished with ten men but got the win to shorten the long journey home. - External Link

Absolutely fantastic, credit to everyone for getting it done.

There will be concerns to come no doubt but that gives us a lift for the next few weeks.

to me that shows the difference between us last year and this , we could have played til cows come home last year and never achieved that kind result. Sure there will be ups and downs but no one will convince me Robinson hasnt improved us. Our biggest threat is transfer window and possibly losing Cadden

Superb result for us tonight and potentially massive. That is exactly the type of time we would normally lose and most definitely would have lost last year. Well done to the team for showing the resilience and bottle to win that against the odds, hopefully this is the springboard for a good season and a good Cup run.

It'll be a tall order to beat Aberdeen in the QFs but I would LOVE it if we did. The team and the manager need to look at this as a tie that we can win; we're at home, we're not playing Celtic, we need to believe that we can win. If we do get past them and into the Semi Finals that'll be a great achievement and potentially opens up a fantastic opportunity for the club to win something, but let's not get carried away.

Tell you what, give me a Cup run over Euro qualification ANY day of the week.

Fantastic result considering our previous cup exploits and being down to ten men against a team who hadn't lost in their last thir**** games.Hope the fans turn out in LARGE numbers for the tie against Aberdeen to show their appreciation to the manager, players and staff for their tremendous efforts tonight

No, the fans should be turning out against Aberdeen to help support us as we try to reach the Semi Final of a National Cup competition. If we allow ourselves to get into the mindset of "we turn up to show our appreciation for winning the previous round" then we'd be as well not even playing the tie, as it's that small time mentality that has cost us so many times. The Aberdeen game is a MUST WIN game because it's a Cup tie and all Cup ties in the League Cup are must win. We're not playing 1970s Brazil, we are playing a Scottish Premiership side at home and we should be looking to win, simple as that. Tonight's result was great, but it's done with, we now need to concentrate on the next round and getting through.

A great win tonight and a real fighting performance. What more can we ask. Particularly pleased for our travelling support. The result and performance bode well for the campaign ahead. Good to see young MacLean notch the winner as well. That will do his confidence and standing in the squad no harm at all. Only downside was that our strikers again drew a blank but our midfield made up for them. Seems to be some confusion as to why Dunne was red carded - hand ball or cynical foul on an opponent? Looking forward to seeing Carson's wonder save.

Tend to agree that last year this would have been a lost cause. To win against a good Ross County side and when down to 10 men is quite an impressive win
I hope it continues and safe to say that there difinitely are signs of improvement over last year.

I really don't see where the handball thing came from last night...he just runs into him from behind.

The joys of the TV close up reveal all. Robinson said it was a genuine attempt to win the ball and that it should not have been a red card. He said they would appeal.
