Nothing wrong with Merson. He's a good pundit who just happens to have a mindset of doom for Newcastle.
Let's be fair to him, he's not been too far off with what he's said on many occasions but cannot, (like all pundits) be correct on all.

He could be a mile out this time around and I hope he is, but then again, if you read into something like the story appears to read like, then it edges towards his thoughts.

I think he basically tries to call it as he genuinely perceives it and let's face it, many Newcastle fans have called it far worse in predictive terms.
