    Jason Shackell

Gary Rowett is set to release Jason Shackell during the current transfer window to make room in his squad only if he can find a replacement for him first though.

    Read your link properly please.

It says he "will be let go if they can find a potential suitor for him."

That does not mean released. You release someone from tbeir contract even if they have nowhere to go.

That wording simply means we are open to selling hin which everyone knows anyway.

Roger read it again I simply put he will be released which means let go if they can find a simple replacement for him. If they can't find a simple replacement for him he won't move, it's as simple as that.

Sure they will be queuing up for a 33year old with a bad back and 25,000 a week wages

Odd things have happened not just in the EFL but football in general so anything can happen.

Just how much money have we wasted on these players these last 3 years??? Off the top of my head...

    Shackell 3m
    Thorne 3m
    Camara 2m
    Butterfield 4m
    Vydra 7m
    Johnson 6m
    Olsen 2m

27,000,000 down the pan. Heads need to roll IMO.

    Blackman 3m
    Anya 2m
    Nugent 3m

    make that 35m

35m should comfortably get you promoted out of this league 3 times over if spent wisely on the correct players at the right times, what a sad state of affairs

Its easy to just focus on the so called poor decisions. To add balance, profits..
    Hendrick 10m
    Hughes 7m
    Ince 7m

24m Profit (not just transfers). So net -11m over the above....more balanced

Steve McClaren has been appointed the new Huddersfield DOF but he's turned the job down

Nope; there's nothing wrong with our terminology, I'd check your own though!

Very true su4eranio... my gripe is what we've brought in, and the lack of quality. For 11m, you'd expect to improve your squad, we've just got worse. Our recruitment department is seriously failing.

In terms of money lost yes it takes the sting out of it a little but the fact still remains we still spent the money at the time to improve the team.......which it hasn't

On the same page me and you!

Johno & Butters were bought as cover for Hughes & Brys long term injuries. Can speculate that without them we could have been in a worse state
Every football club speculates with every transfer fee paid. Thats football isnt it?

    Wow...a positive post...makes a nice change.
Heads are rolling aren't they Adi? Well one, particularly big one anyway.
Not sure Vydra, Thorne, Anya and Nugent fall into the money wasted category yet. Personally I've given up on Butterfield and Blackman. Still waiting on Johnson and we need Olsen because Lowe seems to be another 'sick note' and although I like Forsyth and wish him well he was poor against Wolves and there have to be concerns about his longer term fitness.
Anyway...if we're all saying we've wasted between 27-35m imagine how Mel feels.
