Tonight's team prove why most of them are second choice

I know it was a game that didn't matter all that much as it was the checkatrade trophy, but it was disappointing to concede last minute and loose the game in the end on penalties. Only 2 new signings in the team tonight unsurprisingly. They were cummings and da. Ball. That means 9 players from last season. My point is that as we know, these players carry baggage from so many painful defeats last season- especially from goals conceded towards the end of each half. With us conceding a late equaliser tonight, it proves why it is positive to have 5 or 6 new signings in the starting line-up, with this approach crucial to a winning formula, rather than a team who are not confident in seeing a game out in a professional manner.

You may be right but most of them are mainly shocking and very expensive signings by Alan Stubbs,
    Taylor 500k
    Vaulks 440k
    Forde 200k
    Ball 200k
    Plus none Stubbs signings !
    JCH 359k
    Purrington 300k
2 million pounds of mainly free transfers !

Compare thes with Warnes players who cost very little !

Who says you only get what you pay for !!!

We played the Stubbsy players, so we got a Stubbsy-like performance and result.... missed a load of sitters when we were 1-0 up, then conceded a goal in the third minute of injury time. Poor penalty attempts by Vaulks and especially Taylor, although O'Donnell should have saved last Man City penalty

David Ball scored a good goal though, and looked like he could get another but Warney took him off! Cummings looked good, especially first half ( faded a bit later, probably due to lacking full fitness)
