    EFL transfer statement

Saw on sky last night that Prem think the transfer window should shut before season starts and tbh I thought they made a good point.

Today EFL put a statement out, seriously how far can they get up Prem clubs arris
http://po.st/YRhsPK again the link isn't working.

It just reads that they will be having discussions about it with other club members

Have been saying for a long tome now that the players contracts should expire at the end of May not the end of June which would speed the transfer market up massively, because players not getting paid would incentise them to find a new club a lot quicker.

Actually why do we need transfer windows at all?
They never used to exist and clubs were able to negotiate transfer deals throughout the season which meant they were free to act like any normal commercial business and not be forced to cram their biggest financial decisions into relatively small timeframes.
It's hard to see what benefits the transfer windows have brought other than allowing Sky to have a couple of dramatically staged days each season.
