Very happy with the 3 points this afternoon but we made hard work of it after missing several great chances especially during the 2nd half . Surprisingly Sir Stephen Dobbie being the main culprit he'll come good though

A special mention to the defence and Rankin & Jacobs who were superb in midfield......

A special mention to the defence and Rankin & Jacobs who were superb in midfield......

Jacobs does the unglamorous work in the middle of the park breaking up the oppositions play and winning the ball back on numerous occasions. Rankin on the other hand is perpetual motion from start to finish and near the end, when other younger players were beginning to flag, he was still making the breaks into the opponents box to support the attack which is pretty phenomenal for a player of his age.
If we had won by four or five it would not have flattered us today and only the wayward finishing prevented a much more emphatic scoreline and Dobbie will have been cursing himself in that dressing room afterwards. Probably the more reassuring aspect about today was the solidity of the defence especially when compared with that of last season.
