To be fair I hadn't heard anything until this morning and reading the title and first post its easy to think it was on the subject of Barcelona's FC ..... especially as this is a football forum!

There's been no repugnant comments made after it was cleared up it was about something else on the subject.

Apart from telling another poster to f*** off of course!

To also be fair Rats, unless you live in a cave, that seems hard to believe. I understand people can get news on all sorts of things nowadays...they're called 'mobile devices'. Certainly the people around me at the Test yesterday were well aware from the afternoon onwards of what was going on in Barcelona and the thread's title 'O/T Barcelona Attack' followed by the words 'Dreadful news' might have been a clue too.
For what it's worth...I think you need to be careful on this one. I'm 'threatening' nothing at all but some posters have been seriously upset and at least one - a significant one - is likely to leave if this type of behaviour goes unchecked.

Heard about the terrorist attack in Barcelona same story as the London attack with a Van driving into people same old, same old.


So he had heard about it, yet still chose to make puerile football comments in a disrespectful way as if trying to make a joke of it. "same story as..." "same old same old" = dismissive disrespectful of 14 dead and countless injured.

Anyway as for Barcelona they do need their attack upgrading after Neymar left so this links in as well. ��

Again attempting to trivialise it a bit like a schoolboy giggling at his own joke in poor taste

So if that is deemed to be acceptable behaviour on a public discussion board, what sort of an example does this set for all the "new blood" that you are trying to attract. Come here lads, its OK to take the piss out of human tragedy - but just dont have a go at yorkshire men or you will be banned? Double standards, and clearly you are trying to protect your protege from your position of privilege as a moderator.

Anyway this is a football forum so why are you even talking about terrorism anyway and if you want to talk about terrorism go on a general discussion chat forum to discuss all your needs. Barcelona terrorism attack would of been more of the appropriate headline then just Barcelona attack because Barcelona attack on a football forum would be about Barcelona not terrorism.

Just have the balls to admit that you made a mistake and your attempted joke was in very poor taste. That's all - stand up and be a better man for it, and we can all move on.

Another horrific attack on some innocent victims, this time in north east Spain. Where will all this end ?.
Heres what the latest is on the Bbc news...

14 killed and dozens injured following attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.
Van crashed into crowds at Barcelona's tourist hotspot Las Ramblas, killing 13. The perpetrator is still at large.
Five people shot dead by police in Cambrils, south-west of Barcelona, after another car attack killed one and injured six.
Police said the five men were linked to the Barcelona attack, which so-called Islamic State said it had carried out.
Four people have been arrested. Citizens of some 34 countries killed or injured.

Also, there was a knife attack in Finland, nobody knows yet whether this is down to the same extremists.

Depends if you have an agenda or not ..... to me that's him trying to explain how the misunderstanding happened. I made the same mistake last night thinking that was the subject. There is nothing in the first post that makes a joke and soon as he says hes heard he doesnt make a joke. he is being attacked from several posters and tries to explain how it would link in to a current discussion piece.

there is no direct correlation made between the two. There's a difference between what you want it to say and what it actually says.....

But if someone wants to ridicule special needs people and a group of people directly there is no ambiguity. Big difference!
