My uncle just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He's had to move out of his home and been saddled in a nursing home as none of my dad or two other uncles wanted power of attorney. It's all been left to the council and my dad had a week to scour his place for personal artefacts.

Horrible illness. He's seventy and looks ninety.
