I warmed to him. Didn't like him from the start

I loved Rowdy Roddy Piper and his feud

Still widely regarded as the greatest Rumble match ever and it's hard to disagree. Bobby Heenan's commentary in that match is also legendary.

Can't forget his title feud with Randy Savage, when he superimposed images of himself into photographs of Elizabeth to insinuate that they had previously been an item.

Two of the best promos ever after their brilliant WMVIII match: "I'm gonna beat you, and I'm gonna beat you bad and whenever I see your old lady, I'm gonna kiss her on those moist, wet lips! WOOOOOOH!" Amazing the stuff you could get away with in a PG setting back then.

I see Bobby Heenan died earlier in the week. He was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2002 and lost most of the lower part of his facial structure through successive treatments but was still attending events up until quite recently. Probably the best colour commentator ever (although some would say Jesse Ventura). RIP.
