Some thoughtful analysis blue heeler . As your question suggests , it is likely that they will be playing together in games during the season. So it's important they gel.
You would imagine at stages this season we will start with 2 strikers up top. It will also be necessary, as on Saturday, to add to the 1 striker up front when we need to get something out of games.
Wood's mobility may be better than we think and we will soon find out. If he is more mobile and a decent sniffer of chances in the box with his feet, he should be able to work well with Sam.
Both are big powerful players who will give us a real presence and it will be interesting to see how the ball playing centre halves in the Premier cope when they are both on the field.
I would expect to see more of them playing together than with either Barnes or Walters.
Of course , we still don't know if there will be any new additional striker brought in.

Rumour coming out of France via La'Equippe ( in French ) is that Burnley are close to the signing of another midfielder Sebastian Botell from PSG.
