    My first real hero as a Queens supporter. Whilst nowadays I would probably prefer the guile and skill of a Tommy Bryce or Derek Townsley, as a child I loved the lung bursting runs and never say die attitude of Marvo. Goalscorers are always popular figures.

    Interesting to read that aside from his son who is making a name for himself, Stevie's Dad and Grandad were both successful footballers as well.

    Hard to believe that it is 17 years since Marvo played his last game for Queens in an away game at Alloa Athletic - I think we got gubbed 6 - 1 that day by the Wasps who got promoted.

    great player ,kept himself very fit ,i see a bit of mallan in del lyle ,the fitness and looking after himself anyways ,i can see del going on for a good few years yet .

    I'm sure his grandfather played for Celtic.
