O/T Freddie Mills Jack the Stripper?

Some oldies like me, may remember Freddie Mills as a world boxing champion who went on to be an entertainer in the 50s and 60s.
I saw him in Blackpool with a show with Dickie Henderson.

An article about a book on his secret life names him a killer called Jack the Stripper who was never found but stripped prostitutes, strangled them and knocked their teeth out.

He is said to have confessed to a policeman in his Freemasons lodge, then paid the Krays to kill him and make it look like suicide.

i remember Freddie Mills OC, I once got the 'Sportsview' annual for Christmas, with a picture of Peter Dimmock on the cover, and a full page picture of boxing champion Freddie Mills inside it. I can remember the Six-Five Special as well, (The six five special coming down the line, the six five special right on time), but I don't remember Freddie presenting it.

    I remember Freddie Mills.

He also had an acting career, appearing in two 'Carry On' films among others.

I too remember the six five special and Lonnie Donnegan is linked in my memory with it, but it featured lots of up and coming acts.

Like you I can't remember Freddie Mills doing that. He seemed to work with Dickie Henderson a lot (not many dickies about these days) I don't think he had an act but came on in Dickies act as often comedians had a stooge in those days and made the most of being a former world champion. I have no recollection of Jack the Stripper either, though in those days we were a bit parochial and mostly depended on newspapers for topics of conversation.

I remember his death was a shock at the time.

No I can't remember Jack the Stripper either OC, you'd think a name like that would stick in the mind, but this is the first I've heard of him.
