    Curse of the defence

Charlie mulgrew goes of injured last night to go alongside a long term injury in lenihan
We face Rochdale with a shaky ward and a unknown quantity in Dowling one thing Mowbray should not be considering is returning to a back 3 with 2 wing backs it didn't work.

Totally agree, robin. One very disappointing thing about Mowbrays tenure so far is his inability to understand that defending comes first.
All the more galling when he was a central defender himself, in some senses more excusable in Coyle.
How I wish Allardyce or even Lambert was in charge at this juncture. If nothing else, they both concentrated serious energy in getting the back-four(not three)sorted out, playing to their strengths in a system the players understood. This seems,so far,to be beyond Mowbray!

Lambert was shockingly bad. I'm confused why you would bring him up? He took us backwards, simple as that. tacticallyhe was woeful. Hence he cant stay in a job.
The defence was no problem vrs Bradford, also vrs mkdons. I think you are being very harsh. We lost 2 games with almosta full new team. Yes he got the formation incorrect, and stuck with it incorrectly v Donny. The reason we lost both games, was down to our own mistakes, from 2 of our best players (Ward and Mulgrew). We were also not battling hard enough. In all the years of watching football, you know that nothing is won or lost in aug. By game 3 the frailties where identified, corrected and we are clearly heading in the right direction. And we did the correct thing keeping lenihan. We have the best defence in the league by a mile. To judge them after 2 isolated early season games was mental. Judge them after 10/12 games. And every time we lose a match its not the worst you've seen in 60 years, as you have been saying that on here, for years, every time we lose.

You seem to want to pick a fight with me at every available opportunity. You are talking absolute rubbish to say Im always complaining its the worst performance in 60 years. Lambert didnt get us relegated,Coyle did really, and then Mowbray completed the job.. Fact.
Im lookingforward to our next game hoping the recent improvement can continue.
