We should get the buckets out to pay some of his week's wages.....
The best we can hope for is Ipswich keep going well and leave him here all season to see how he develops.
Then, if they get promoted he could become available but would by then be out of our price range, if he keeps scoring.
The £10k a week for Becchio was only for a limited period though and then the liability disappears when he goes back to the parent club.
KM on a large salary each and every week for 3 years is a big investment.
Another thing to consider is that this would take a large slice of the budget on one player (remember Dexter). Unless we break the rules this might no be possible
An alternative view would be to invest in him and flog him for £2m in the future
I Donno I think Danny ward was on 7k if he got us to championship maybe we could afford him but we couldn't afford many players like that which is why we would go back down and have to sell him. We need a bigger budget and the only way that will happen is to upgrade stadium because some of our fan base are too cheap to buy a shirt unless they go on sale, it surely won't come from merchandise
Flour.... bit of info for you. We had Becchio signed to contract for the season and even though he went back to Norwich injured for the rest of the season, TS still had to pay his 10k a week for the rest of the season.
If you don't believe me and you get the chance then ask TS.
Ok fair do's. No reason to disbelieve you
It was still only for a limited period though compared to Blackstock's contract.
Who knows, we might get him for £4k a week and sell him on in a year
What gives people the impression that Ipswich want to sell KM ?
It's only a month ago Mick-Mac said he may still be part of the set up at Portman Road.
Not certain but I think Ipswich have an option to extend his contract.
They are in pole position, as every goal goes in his price goes up.
Either way Ipswich is on a winner on any deal considering it was reported they bought him for £10K.....what a profit they will make !
Btw £500k is peanuts for a League 1 player who looks like hitting 20 goals.
Some of the cash from the Danny Ward sale may have been used to fund DB's retirement fund.
