It'll be interesting to see how he does at Palace, but I think he's really up against it. Imo players don't have to like their manager but they have to respect him. I think this is why Steve McClaren just cant hack it in England anymore, he is apparently a highly talented coach, but what good does that do him when the players look at him and see the Wally with the Brolly talking to them. He'll be forever forever tainted with that image, no wonder he's now working in Israel.
I think Roy might have a similar problem at Palace, whenever the players look at him they'll see the man who froze on the touchline as Iceland knocked us out of the Euros, they just won't have any confidence in him. They're just bound to be taking the piss behind his back. It'll all end in tears ...hopefully.

Hopefully this is one massive nail in the Crystal Palace coffin for this season. This appointment smacks of sheer desperation and no idea about a medium to long term plan. I am pretty certain when the Board appointed Sean Dyche to be our manager they had a fairly clear idea about how the club might develop over the next 3-5 years.
