I wouldn't be opposed to it either, I think the old brewery site is prime for some more amenities. The metrodome is gaining high profile status as a snooker and darts venue. There was the Webber Cup there recently too which attracts big crowd. Let's build on this further.

The land is currently redundant and overgrown. We could do with something happening. When tha thinks years agu thy ed towd Barnsley main pit, towd brewery and the Barnsley canal it wo bustling and thriving 100 years agu. Well all that has gone now. It's a new era so move with the times and create something that can benefit the community.

It can't do any harm providing they don't encroach to much on the river dearn park and it's character

Plenty of other massive games to come , fingers crossed mate .

With all due respect mate nowt is confirmed as yet. All we've done is debate over hypothetical situations. Until it is concrete my focus is on the games ahead

I hope I am proved wrong and their modest investment allows us to improve gradually year by year by retaining our better players under our present "Plan" and stay at Oakwell. This is what I said a few days ago. Gradualism is the SB way. Sustainable change is achieved in small discreet increments, not abrupt strokes.

    Bring on the Villa.

I think they can build on some of the land , carpark etc but the stadium area has to be used for leisure facilities. I also think some of the land may come under green belt but not sure.

I'm told not too much will change , probably same people running the club with some investment in the academy etc but just tweeks here and there .Theyre impressed by how the club is run and the plan of buying young players and developing. The backing we have though would mean we wouldn't have to accept the first decent offer that comes in for a player we can try offer better contracts ourselves a bit or hold on for better offers

I wouldn't expect any £30k a week contracts or John Terry style signings though . More or less as you were with Hecky a big part of things

It's only my take on this and nothing more .

Patrick's had a word with the consortium and told them how to go about things around these parts .

Don't be making a big fanfare and we are going to do this and that .

Don't be making big promises you can't guarantee .

Leave things be , make adjustments and feel your way in quietly .

That said I'm in agreement with that we are going to continue with the model we have , my beef with it was always the fact that while it made us financially solvent it's on the pitch that counts the most .

Look if we can get somewhere where we were pre xmas last year and keep the players here and add to it if we are short of the necessary quality then to me that's growth and far better than where we were with all due respect to PC .

Slowly building does it for me too .
