    Oscar Garcia ???

Not even 10 games in and there's Rumours Aston Villa are ready to replace Steve Bruce with Oscar Garcia!

Hope this is just paper talk or football is sinking to another level!

I'm not a big fan of Steve Bruce but as one newspaper describes it this is distasteful.

There is very little honour in the game these days with players, managers and owners all showing a glaring fickleness.

Contracts count for little and lead to huge pay offs and usually another job so loyalty has all but disappeared.

Back to Villa and after little more than a handful of games rumours appear that the manager could be replaced. Villa have spent 90m since relegation so might be expected to 'walk' the division but as we well know the championship doesn't work like that. Having six from ten (decent) midfielders unhappy each week from non selection makes for an unharmonious dressing room rather than strong competition in my opinion and Newcastle aside not many clubs have gone (back) up with bulging expensive squads.

That aside and sticking with Bruce I would still expect them to be up around the top six. Without being disrespectful of the sides above us there are only 3 or 4 I expect to be there at the business end of the season plus one surprise package. Unfortunately many of these billionaire owners know less than us about the game and carry a gung ho approach in that a short run of bad results = failure and often the sack.

The Villa fans have had enough of Bruce with the bad run of results they expected better from their team with the crop of player's that he has brought in and have reached breaking point, if they get a bad result against Barnsley today later live on Sky Sports his days are numbered.

Strangely Bruce has a better win ratio at Villa than Roy Hodgson has at any club he's ever managed and yet the latter remains in demand. Villa fans should perhaps be careful what they wish for.

Coming down from the PL can be a quick and easy process in getting back up if you squad doesn't need tweaking and redeveloping or not in any financial situations like Burnley & Newcastle for instance but for the likes of Sunderland, they have a squad that needs a hell of a lot of redevelopment and will take a couple of seasons before they see the light of day of PLF ever again and Aston Villa on the other hand may have the financial backing of Chinese investor in Dr Xia but they had to redeveloped big time and will take them a couple of seasons also to get their squad right to gain back promotion to the PL.
