    o/t pork pie thread

Probably the most interesting thread ever to appear on this site. I tried to find it again yesterday but it must have been deleted.

Is there any chance it can be resurrected? There was one brand of pie that seemed to very popular. Unfortunately i can't remember the name.

    Didn't see it.

Probably Percy Turners though, they're based in Jump near Wombwell but sold in butchers around South Yorkshire, butcher in middle of Wath sells them, think sweet shop at top of Rotherham High Street does as well, one of the shops round there anyway.

Can confirm that Andrews is still going strong.

I know it's a case of personal taste but I've found Percy Turner's pies a bit overrated.

    Each to their own.

Jones Pork Pies (Morrisons sell them)
Closest I've found to what Pork Pies did (& should still) taste like.

However on a similar issue, and I've drooled over them before, who remembers the radioactively hot Pork Pies @ Millmoor ?
Been scalded on the dribbling juice many a time !

Plus the bright Orange sausage rolls.
What the h€ll were they made with ?

On the subject of pies...was anyone else's pie clap cold yesterday?
Mine & minivespa's Balti was....quite ironic considering Bradford is the centre of excellence for Balti.
