Huddersfield were a difficult side to break down and for me it was one point gained rather than two points lost. It was important we didn't get beat. Now only one defeat in 6 games including 3 against top 6 sides.

They did to us what we try to do to every other team and it worked!

Pity Sam didn't get a cameo, he might have unsettled Schindler.
    Their defence was outstanding.
The stats show vey similar figures
They won 90% of their 21 or so tackles which is amazing. We won 71% of 13.
They Made 35 clearances to our 19
We made 450 passes 19.8% long ones to their 417 and 18.7%

Will be interesting to see how they compete with top teams. We do need to make sure we don't lose ground to lower teams and ideally take three off them, but the attack is missing something.

Watching Andre on the edge of offside making penetrating runs, creating chances and scoring one showed some of them.
    Watford now top six!!

am not having all this "Huddersfield had an amazing defence" - Tommyrot.

games being span to seem that way - but being so completely amaterish in our attack, lacking in purpose, hopeless as far as ideas... sluggish toward our objective and vacant of even a half decent plan - then however their defence played it - they had it easy....much too easy imo.

We have no divine right to beat any team in this league. We haven't lost any ground to Huddersfield and it's just as likely we will go to their place and get a result.

We have not missed Andre Gray or in that case Michael Keane. They have both left the club because they wanted to and so far have not covered themselves in any glory.

I definitely think that Huddersfield have an excellent defence that is well organised and very well disciplined.
It was their fourth game in the PL before they conceded a goal and that was a heavily deflected shot at West Ham which the keeper had covered. The second goal was at the end of that match.
The only other goal they have conceded was a Jamie Vardy penalty last week.
What is really impressive is their discipline at free kicks when they hold their line, whereas many teams drop off at the last minute. This caught us out several times yesterday and is one area where I will criticse our players for not realising that, if they stayed in an onside position and the ball was delivered into the right area, they would catch the defenders on the turn and possibly force a mistake or a corner. The reason that defenders usually drop is so that they can attack the ball, however, this gives attackers an equal chance whereas the disciplined approach of holding the line catches attackers offside more often than not.

For someone who has always appreciated the value of a good defence, yesterday's match was extremely interesting because the teams cancelled each other out and neither had the skilful players necessary to make it into an attacking spectacular, however, there was still much to admire and a point apiece was just reward for both teams.

Too true alf. They never seemed to be able to perform when the injuries hit and then it looks as though the season caught up with them during the last few weeks. Never mind, there is always next season.
Castleford deserve to become champions, however, there are no guarantees.

....it's the same again from me Sub - very well disciplined defence - just nobody there to test it - sort of cancels itself out - And much as in Huds other PL games - they've managed good possession, but not made the shots - does that mean the opposing side also had a quality defence ?.....the very same opposition that also has difficulty making goals.
I think it's big on the illusion...making each other look better than reality....and if it could fail - can always play the majority of the 90mins with 10 men (+quality keeper) defending the goal.....become Defensive Kings - might even get awarded Crowns at the end of the season.
