    My Old Football Boots.

I've been clearing out the wardrobe today in readiness for moving house.

I came across my last pair of boots and my shin pads in a plastic carrier bag,the pair of boots I scored a 25 yarder in during my last eleven a side match at the age of 48 nearly eight years ago.

Because I keep myself fit and I can still run quite quickly I can't let go of the feeling I might get the "call" to turn out again!

    I know I won't but I can't bring myself to bin them.

Before you ask......NO,they are NOT pink and yellow.

49 years ago aged 13, i had a pair of Adidas Santiago, as worn by Pele. I thought i was the bees knees and regulary cleaned and dubbed them.
I haven't got them today though i have to say, i chucked them in the bin years ago.

Best pair of football boots I ever had I bought second hand off my mate. They cost me 5 bob. (25p) to the uninitiated and were Bobby Charlton boots. I don't know how many goals I scored with those but when they fell apart I bought some new boots, I cant remember what they were but I know the goals dried up to the point that I ditched em and bought some different ones and remarkably I scored in my first game with them and scored regular after that with them. I don't know what made the difference but I think it may have been something psychological. Or of course it may have been that I just played sh*t in the others.
