I think this is a question of say what you mean and mean what you say. Both protagonists have some credibility on their side. One points to the language used in the Scottish Sun and regurgitated by the equally untrustworthy HITC meaning that it is only a piece of poor journalism made up by some hack who has column inches to fill. He might also be correct as we have been linked by caveated reports on a myriad of players over the past 4 months. Most of those reports were rubbish and the odds are that this one may well be too. The other protagonist also seems to have a point. He, later on in the exchange brings up a new "fact", that we have apparently been looking at the lad since last season. It might have been a better move to mention this as well and also provide a source for it. That way you remove or diminish the likelihood that those used to dissing yet more lazy journalism stick to disbelieveing caveated reports.

Also a message to the poster who mentioned the 2 injuries the lad has had. Dave Mackay came here having broken the same leg twice. That gives no guarantee the lad won't break down but it doesn't guarantee he will. Without Mackay, it is very likely Cloughie would not have got us promoted........

They have provided a source you just don’t like the thread.

Boring bickering aside - do we really need another right back? Wisdom seems solid, with Baird a solid back up. It's left back that's weak in defence.

Would be a wasted signing IMO

Baird’s contract is up for renewal at the end of the season and Rowett might opt to choose not to renew his contract and he’s getting on a bit and may look for fresher younger players in his side to put the average age group down as we have too many players near enough to the age of 30. Our average age group against Bristol City was 28 to 30 or over.

That's fair enough, but Wisdom isn't an old head. I'd rather we used a youngster as back up and could see Baird managing another year, it's not as if he's in the team for his pace. Otherwise, we'd end up signing a player to warm the bench, when our priorities lie elsewhere.

Didn’t say Wisdom was an old head. We have been conceding goals has of late too many in fact and i’m not surprised that Derby are keeping tabs on defenders because it’s now become a priority once again that adds on to the list of working with the midfield in January.

Your absolutely right, it might be true, but given the source is the Scottish Sun and its repeated by HITC, which is generally full of bunkum its more likely to be pure Hokum. I was just joshing anyway because this particular poster seems to post rumour and media speculation as if its nailed on fact and rather amusingly ties himself up in knots trying to justify it.

Given the lack of genuine entertaining threads on this site what else is there to do?
