    A very good read

...from Football365. The author is, I think, a smoggie so he has no particular reason to be nice about us. But it's very well written and relevant, especially now.

Warning: P'boro-the article says nice things about the city/people of Newcastle too so if it offends you I apologise.

    It is decent but

I totally disagree with "He should just walk away, accept his £250m loss and try and survive on his remaining billion. That would be the decent thing to do."

None of us would accept a loss on something when it's clearly still making money etc. as much as i want him gone he has every right to try and get his money back.

God i feel dirty defending him like that

Yes I enjoyed reading that, apart from this paragraph it really boiled my pi55...

But the good times will only ever arrive if it is owned and run in a proper, well-thought out, well-planned manner, and not as though it is a social club outing on which everyone has started drinking at 8am, has removed their shirts by noon and been put in jail by the evening for fighting with a horse.

Whats so wrong with drinking at breakfast time and hitting horses FFS!!!!

there is serious interest in takeovers (not from China as some would have you believe). but Ashley doesn't really want to give up his advertising board unless it's too good to be true.

I won't hold my breath, but there is a little hope.

They were saying somewhere he might try a deal where he retains some hoardings etc. but that then makes it very complicated deal wise.

he will almost certainly want to retain advertising and / or merchandise rights.
he won't give up his freebies easily.
