If you're saying you never called me a 'Hoodlum' then you are a bloody liar and I'm quite entitled to say that. I'm no expert on computers but if you or any other poster will instruct me on how to bring up a poster's past posts I'll show it to you in black and white. I understand one can only go back some 500 posts but I'm sure that will cover enough to be able to bring it up. I thought at the time the word was very old fashioned and childlike and not the sort of a description used by a professional writer of any standing.
"Proud to be British for it's reputation of siding with the underdog" - what are you on about? By nature we're a fair and tolerant people and always have been - providing we're not being taken for mugs.
"Offering a home to refugees" - well you may be, I would put genuine existing English people in need ahead of any refugee.
"Organising big events" - We've always been capable of organising events. However none of the three mentioned go into the annals of making us proud, they're just part of the way we are.
Again my age comes into the equation. We defended our country against the might of the Luftwaffe during the war with many young Englishmen giving their lives for our freedom along with many others from our other services. Since then we have excelled in engineering, sport, the arts and sciences and made this little island in the North Atlantic one of the most desirable places in the world to live. THIS MAKES ME PROUD AND SO LUCKY. I believe in my country and also believe that we control it in such a way as we feel fit.I don't see anything wrong in this at all, yet still we appear to have the weak ideologists looking to run this great country down. If this country is that bad, why is every bugger trying to get to live here?
So to conclude Mr Sidney ......... you'll now find you've met someone who's not afraid to dodge any issue with you. The first thing is for me to find the 'Hoodlum' mention - which I will - and then get the obligatory reply " Ooooh yes it slipped my mind", the easy way out eh? Well not in my book little man ........ because nobody infers I'm a liar.
To conclude: My remarks herein are made without prejudice ...... I believe this clears me of any character deformation...O.K?
