    Player ratings v Barnet

So what do we all think?

Collin 7 – great agility to re-adjust from the deflected JCR shot, looked the part.
Tootle 7 – a bit exposed late on, but a superb cross for the Yates goal.
Duffy 6.5 – unfair criticism for their goal, generally in the right place.
Brisley 6.5 – did the basics well, looked unflustered.
Dickinson 7 – defended well and a genuine threat going forward.
Allessandra 5.5 – a few good bits but too often on the periphery of the game.
Yates 7.5* - normal service resumed. Always involved, good finish for his goal.
Milsom 7 – nothing spectacular but gave us shape and held the midfield together.
Grant 5.5 – missed a very presentable chance, tried but struggled to get involved.
Stead 5.5 – given a rough ride by Barnet, but didn’t offer much.
Ameobi 6.5 – offered a physical threat and kept the Barnet defence busy.

Fitzsimons 7 – superb save low down, looks a more than capable deputy.
Forte 6 – struggled to get involved, but nearly scored a goal of the season contender.
Hewitt 6 – not much time but offered a bit of protection late on.

Only a ‘just about deserved it’ performance, but the sort of game we would have ended up losing last season. In terms of quality we look a long way from top of the league, but Nolan has managed to instil the sort of fight and resilience we have lacked for so long. Happy as a pig in sh!t tonight, but I still cant help but share the manager’s view that we are that bit closer to safety!

Agree with most of that, but just like to add a 2 out off 10 for the support in the kop.
It was like sitting in a library for an hour.. Terrible support..

Collin - 7 - did the basics - not really testedst

Tootle - 7 - good support going forward and one of our consistent performers
Duffy - 5 - solely for the attempted clearance - put it into row z or control the ball - the weak link yet again and not a captain
Brisley 7.5 - duffy take note - does the basics - defends well, never beaten in the air
dicko 6.5 - steady and a decent outlet but we miss jones' attacking intent

grant 5 - didnt look interested and hasnt now for the last 3 games - needs a rest
yates 7.5 MOM - bossed the midfield - deserved his goal - last week a blip
allesandra - 5 - forgot he was playing - no impact
milsom - 6.5 - mopped up as always

ameobi 6.5 - decent first game back after injury - needs a quick partner to anticipate knock downs
stead - 4.5 - needs to be dropped - slow unproductive and useless. constantly trying to win free kicks instead of win the ball and offers no threat whatsoever. striker needed in january

Campbell -Ryce ran the show for Barnet today,I agree .
But our ability to stand off today and not close down the opposition will cost us against the better sides.
I have no doubt of that.
We are not playing particularly well and really greatful for the massive 3 points.
    Some signs of previous form.
glad to walk home with a win in the bag
    keeper 5 average
    Toot 6.5 keeps surprising
    Dicko 6 pleased for him
    Bris 6 consistent
    Mcduff 4.9 normal
Yates 8 *will do his confidence a power of good
    Milsom 5.9 normal
    Ally 5.2 missing
Grant 5.3 had a 15 minute spell second half
Shola 7 what a pain he is for the opposition
Stead 5 should become a stunt man
New keeper 5.8 made some good saves..nervy when he dropped the cross..
    Hewitt 5 ok
    Forte 5 ok

Where did I say I Sat in the Kop? I actually sit at the kop end of the Pavis smart arse. And yes the singers in the kop need to be more vocal and get some decent chants. Black and white army and the Wheelbarrow song aren't exactly inspiring FFS.

They tend to rely on the drum to "get things going", but lately the drum / drummer has been rubbish. I sit about 5 rows in front of the kids on the drum, and could barely hear it. Another factor is that the games, last 3 at least, have been boring affairs, and providing nothing to get singing about.

Do you think it is too much to ask for Notts fans to show some positivity? Top of the league with a good manager and chairman yet our opponents fans seem to rate Notts better than most of the posters on here
