Thread: Yay! The forum is busy again!

How come a manager like Jack Ross comes in to St Mirren with a fraction of our budget, gets them playing well and scoring goals.McKinnon is clueless and it simply not good enough for united to be thereabouts at the end of the season. I'd even say the team are heading backwards under him. We don't need a top class manager to win this league - a step up from the junior one we have would see us back to the premier division.

Also laughably deluded thinking the likes of McIntyre would come in and make a difference, all that would happen would be he'd get cut slack early on in his reign then fans would be on his back, if we win this league it won't be by romping it, sorry but what experience does he have of managing a club like United (or an Aberdeen,Hearts,Hibs) with big expectations and pressure ? none.

IF we were to change manager ( it's not at that stage just now) it would need to be someone who has a track record of coping with a job like ours or the club's mentioned above where fans will be right on the back asap, and guys who fall into that category are the like of Levein and Houston (a very very good Utd manager who also got unfair abuse from the poisonous section of our support with short memories)

Not guys who have had no success at a bigger Scottish club (that means not a yogi hughes who failed at Hibs etc), not guys who do it at wee clubs with no pressure as we can't afford a cycle of this hence it's better to stick right now

We have a good enough (excellent) home record under Ray that suggests if we can get a little bit of consistency away from home we'll be there or thereabouts in May, Inverness at home, Dumbarton away then St Mirren at home in the next three, if we win a couple of those this place will fall silent again like the last month

We are consistent away from home

Overall our performances are consistent both home and away. It's just that we seem to scrape through at home and are found out away.

I agree with Shedka to a point. McIntyre wouldn't do well at United because he is an ex-player. On Houston as United manager, he was good with Levein signings when he went out and ventured in the transfer market we got Brian McLean and Mark Millar ffs.

If we are looking for someone local who can coach a team and get them to work as a unit I would say Jocky Scott. The last person who had connections from Dens that came to Tannadice in a coaching managerial position didn't do all that badly. Phuck going back to ex players, doesn't work. Its time for an old head to come in and work his knowledge on how to win games and breed confidence to the team.

Not a bad idea at all to get Jocky Scott in. Go one better and get Gordon Wallace in as his assistant? Think of the savings? We can use their zimmers as 5-a-side goals?

Ha ha what a random post, was very pleasing seeing Rogic sicken the ssb's at the death in the big cup final, remind me when you last won the Scottish Cup? 😁
