Leicester City and the Champions League

The BBC have reported that Leicester earned more money in reaching the Champions League quarter final last season than Real Madrid who won it, 73.2 million compared to 72.6 million.

This is a staggering amount of money to add to the money they made from being Premier League champions.

How on earth did they earn more than Real Madrid?

I know it doesn't make sense. The final payment comprises of several components. One of these is based on your countries TV package appeal.

English clubs come ahead of Spanish clubs it seems. Juventus from Italy earned the most.

That is how I understand it, someone may be able to explain it better.

Despite Burnley's massive income from the PL it is far from a level playing field, even competing against teams like Leicester. They owe a lot to Ranieri but even then they sacked him without too much hesitation.
