Unfortunately I am of a similar opinion. McKinnon's departure, though desirable, is but a distraction from the real cause of the woes at Tannadice.

The uninspired usual list e will look at will be:

    McIntyre
    Malpas
    Hughes
    McCall
    Davies
    Stubbs
    Pressley
    Cathro

There is a couple from there I would take and none of them would have ties to us in the past

    Agreed.

    No immediate inspiration there.......

ST will probably be up Fairmuir tomorrow trying to find a guy in a tracky who will do the job nice and cheap

From the list above McIntyre is by far the best I think.

Is there no one new coming up the leagues or from England or anywhere like wales / Ireland that could be considered?

I think it has got to be McIntyre if these names are our only options

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind it'll be McIntyre. He took 4 years to get Dunfermline promoted then was sacked the following season 4 points adrift at the bottom. Another cheap, lazy, uninspiring decision lies ahead.

they wont be the only options, those are just the usual ones you will see at the top of the bookies lists and no doubt be in contention

I'd go for Danny Lennon. He got St Mirren up and he won them a cup. Now my pal who has been a St Mirren supporter for over forty years said that was the best football he had ever witnessed by the Buddies. He says they are not bad at the moment but again points out that they are in the Championship and the real measure of Jack Ross side is how they do in the Premiership. Remember St Mirren punted Lennon and thought they could do better with Tommy Craig which led eventually to Gary Teale and eventual relegation.
