We might be 5th but we're almost equally as many points off top as we are off the relegation zone. Only 1/3 of the season gone but the top two have already opened up a formidable gap.

Next month will be interesting with us playing both of the top two at home. Stern tests. Can't wait

Sounds like we were shambolic defending again, but great come back.

Defensive coach and centre backs in January

Was thinking the same gm_gm. When we've had success at this level in the past we always seem to have had a solid centre back pairing a la Stancliffe/Green, Morgan/Arneson, Swailes and the Scottish bloke (sorry memory drawing a blank)

Wasn't it Branston and Artell that we had success with at this level, and Swaz n Macca we replaced them with in the second tier ?

Yeah that's is right. In fact didn't we play 3 centre backs in most games that season in a 3-4-3 Branston Artell and Rob Scott?

Entertaining game in high winds. Draw was about right although either team could have won. Saw Zippy in the bovril q at half time & said this could be 4_3 to us or 6-2 to them. Second half better, Taylor made an impact, it was his chasing down that led to the pass to Newell & cross for the 3rd goal.

Centre midfield looked lightweight, Vaulks slow, many missed passes.

Ajayi decent game for a comeback.

    Cracking goal from Newell.
