Really? Even though his budget is a fraction of ours? You said yourself his team is full of lower league players and kids, yet he's moulded a team that sits above ours in the table! Very poor point you're making tbh

Aye and look at the season we've had, absolutely horrendous. They're 1 point ahead of us mate. Like I said, he's proving right now that he's a better manager than McKinnon although McKinnon was doing equally as good as Hopkin was when he was with Raith. Does a dozen or so games mean he can handle going full time with the pressure of being Dundee Utd manager? I wouldn't want to take that chance.

makes no sense your argument - you have mentioned 4 or 5 contrasting situations that cant be measured. What is true is that how do we know he can handle this job. Just like every single applicant in my view. Isnt that a risk we have to take with any manager? I agree if we can get a manager full of experience then great. which manager full of experience without flaws are on the list though? Yogi, Mcintyre??

All relative. for one yeah i agree he prob isnt the one but jesus some on here will argue against any candidate

My argument is based in the fact we've been down this road with McNamara & McKinnon very recently. Up n coming flavour of the month before they came to us, had their teams punching well above their weight at the time yet were coming complete failures when they tried to make the step up. Do we really want to go down this road AGAIN? Down the road of giving an untried, lower league manager a shot at the big time in the hope that they can prove themselves capable? For me, its an absolute no. We simply cannot bring in someone with next to no experience and hope he does well. Fwiw i don't want Hughes or particularly McIntyre either. There must be better candidates than them out there. As for which manager is full of experience without flaws on the list, well, we don't know because we don't know the list. It's all speculation at this stage. Of the list that we're seeing, I'd take a Laszlo before any of them. He's been an instant success at just about every club he's been at and has bags of experience at levels way above us . But who's to say he's even applied. Again, untried, unproven, inexperienced managers are not for me. Not this time. As are journeymen Scottish managers who seem to be on this merry go round of managers linked to clubs every time a vacancy comes up.

Got you. Yeah even back to Jobbie. What you say on there must be better manager out there - I agree, but not in the names being mentioned - Laszlo i get but as you say it may just be rumour. The experience part yes probably that is correct as the remit is to go up this season and i think the gig will be until end of season initially. Would you class stubbs as experienced?
