Crowd that night was between 4000-4500 palmylad.

The first half that night was probably the best I've seen Queens play part from the first half of the Brechin championship game at Forfar a few years ago. Queens were 4-0 up at halftime. Strachan hit the woodwork a couple of times in the second half but it was well over by then. Think I'm right in saying Strachan was Dundee's youngest ever captain at that time.

The match was the 2nd leg after the first one finished 0-0 at Dens. Dundee had beaten us fairly easily 2-0 at Palmy in the league around a month before. We lost 4-3 at Hamilton in another exciting game the Saturday after.

After the superb demolition of the Dundee side Queens blew it big time and a chance of a Hampden semi - final appearance by losing 4 - 3 on aggregate to Forfar. Three - one ahead at Palmy they conceded two goals to a battling Angus team and in the second leg lost 1 - 0 up at Station Park - a massive disappointment.
