The question I have is why Rangers have taken so long to make an approach if they knew all along that DM is their man. I'm just feeding off second hand information but if the answer to this is that they have been scraping around for the funds that really doesn't bode well for their financial situation at present.

It seems not improbable to me that they have shortlist that isn't limited to DM. I expect we'll learn over the next day or so just how serious their interest in DM really is. If this was a done deal then I would expect the two clubs to reach an agreement fairly quickly. If they have decided on DM then they shouldn't be fannying around with a bid they will have known we were likely to reject. I don't buy into the notion that it's all a charade to orchestrate DM's move to Ibrox without SM losing face. Folk don't half love a conspiracy theory.

i reckon they may have said this is the last time we offer you this job. its now or never, just to foce his hand.

They are clearly struggling to come up with the cash. We all know how he was burned historically with his English job and that's why he turned down Sunderland for a reported £1 million per year. What guarantees will he get going to the rangers now? My guess is not much...they are skint.

This could have a way to go yet...Does knocking them back raise his profile again? I'd say it probably does.

Rumours are that DM and TD both haven't taken training this morning.

If I had to put my neck out, I would say he will gone by supper time today. He wants to go, or at least wants to talk to them. Either of those though will finish him off as AFC manager.

Right can we move on and start speculating who our new manager will be. I don't think it will be any of the big names suggested, McLeish, Strachan, Black, Lambert etc. It's just not what we do and none of these have ever expressed in any interest at a vacancy at Pittodrie previously. Would not surprise me if Tommy Wright is near the top of the wanted list.
