O/T Were Def Leppard any good or just a 2nd rate Bon Jovi?

I'm leaning towards the latter, their music doesn't seem to aged well at all to me.

I lke the song "Hysteria" but most of their other songs seem to have very "forced" choruses.

We have a lot in common with Def Leppard. They had a drummer with one arm. We have a few defenders with one leg.

Was watching Punk Britania at the BBC last night. If there's a better intro than Pistols Pretty Vacant tell me, songs not bad either. Def Leppard & Bon Jovi forgettable.

GF:neither a patch on the inventors of that genre: Deep Purple. Richie Blackmore and Ian Gillan and all that. Get the Made in Japan LP: superb live rock music at its best. In fact i would say this was arguably the best live album made by any band.
