Berghaus = Tat?

For 20 years now I've been buying Berghaus jackets and fleeces, but in the past few years I've noticed their fleeces are made from cheap materials... bobbling, wearing out at elbows, stitching coming loose. Just sh!te quality, which is poor show since they still cost £50+... no better than something from a supermarket at half that price.

Thats compared to one of their 10 year old Spectrum fleece that I am still wearing...

Surely I'm not alone in noticing this?

Any recommendations for good quality outdoor wear - without paying over the odds? I've had a couple of bits from Columbia and they definitely seem to be better than Berghaus nowadays...
