Times says
This week Everton received a cease and desist letter from Watford’s lawyers, demanding that the pursuit of Marco Silva be immediately called off — or else. But it should not have needed such a threat.
“Did Moshiri really think that Watford, even if offered £10 million or more, could afford to let their manager walk out in November?
Another blow
chief executive of Leipzig, Oliver Mintzlaff, has revealed that talks over a contract extension for Rangnick are at an enhanced stage.
“We expect to extend the contract ahead of schedule this week,” he is quoted as telling SportBild.
“Ralf Rangnick is the sportive engine of our club and therefore also elementary for our future development.”
The news will come as a blow to the Everton hierarchy, who may need to move fast to resolve their ongoing vacancy.
Close to making an appointment apparently says Chairman
Jim White also revealed from his own sources that he believes there is a shortlist of three men in the running.
Who those managers are is yet to be seen but the club are seemingly getting very close to finally appointing a new boss.
Sean Dyche, Marco Silva, Sam Allardyce, Diego Simeone and more have all been touted for the job in recent weeks but all moves have fallen through.
That has left the club well and truly scraping the barrel for their next manager who will have a huge task ahead.

Well the only one of the three left in it ... is Sean! However there are Rumours that Watford are looking for a new manager.
Watford eye up Gian Piero Ventura as a possible replacement, according to Tuttosport.

We are close," Moshiri is reported to have said.
"It's really best to say nothing more until the new team is appointed and we climb up the table."
Could be a long delay in the announcement then.

MARTIN O’NEILL is top of a three-man shortlist to become Goodison gaffer.
The Republic of Ireland boss has competition from Tony Pulis — who was only axed by West Brom on Monday — and Everton caretaker chief David Unsworth.
So it’s a two man list then!
